This document responds to questions that may naturally arise
after reading the Interim Report on the Vision of Bible365Mission
and the Formation of the 24 Theologians.
It is not a defense,
but a clarification intended to prevent misunderstanding.
Q1. Have the 24 theologians already been decided behind the scenes?
No.
At this stage, no final list has been determined.
• No finalized inclusions or exclusions
• No implied “core list”
• No internal consensus on names
What has been established first is the criteria, not the list.
The criteria are public.
The list remains intentionally open.
Q2. Why were Christian philosophers consulted before theologians?
If theologians are selected first,
the process easily becomes confined to
specific denominations, traditions, or schools.
Christian philosophers, however, expose universal human questions first:
• Who is the human being?
• What are the limits of reason?
• Does truth demand a way of life?
• Why must ethics lead to action?
Only after these questions were clarified
did we begin to consider which theological reflections
could endure them without evasion.
Q3. How was the question “Is this universally true?” actually used?
This was not a rhetorical phrase.
It functioned as a real filtering mechanism.
Thought was set aside—without condemnation—if it:
• Remained confined to internal ecclesial language
• Absolutized human reason
• Weakened the decisiveness of revelation (especially Christ-centeredness)
• Failed to translate into lived ethics and responsibility
Such views were not rejected, but not included at this stage.
Q4. Is Bible365Mission itself a theological project?
No.
Bible365Mission is centered on Scripture, not theologians.
Its core commitments are:
• A daily rhythm of reading Scripture
• Existential reflection
• Ethical responsibility
• Obedient practice
The 24 theologians do not replace this journey.
They serve only as a background structure of discernment,
ensuring that the journey does not lose its direction.
Q5. Why does this process take so much time?
Because the time is Closing Statement
Bible365Mission is a journey of living Scripture.
The 24 theologians, when eventually named,
will serve as witnesses that this journey
has not lost its way.
We have not yet spoken all the names.
And we preserve that restraint
as part of the project itself..The 24 theologians are not:
• A curated content list
• A recommended reading guide
• A ranking of influential thinkers
They are intended to be names with testimonial weight.
Therefore, we choose:
• Not to rush
• Not to fear postponement
• To preserve the formation process itself as part of the record
Q6. Why was this “interim report” made public now?
Publishing only a finished result
often gives the appearance of authority without accountability.
By making the criteria public first,
by explicitly stating that the list is not yet complete,
and by acknowledging that the process will take time,
we place this work under public responsibility.
This document is not a conclusion.
It is a public commitment.
Q7. When will the final list of 24 theologians be released?
There is no fixed timetable.
One thing, however, is clear:
| No name will be included simply because | it is famous
| or historically influential.
Only thought that endures the published criteria
will remain under consideration.
Q8. Who is this project for?
This project is not for:
• Those seeking quick answers
• Those consuming theology as content
It is for:
• Those who wish to read Scripture daily
• Those unwilling to avoid difficult questions
• Those who refuse to separate faith from life
