The wise before God

do not treat words lightly,

do not place wealth in the seat of God,

and acknowledge that they cannot understand all things.

전도서 5–8장은

인간이 하나님 앞에서 어떻게 살아야 하는지를 묻습니다.

5장은

하나님의 집에 나아갈 때

말을 조심하라고 말합니다.

하나님 앞에서

많은 말보다 듣는 마음이 더 중요합니다.

재물도 인간을 만족시키지 못합니다.

재물을 사랑하는 사람은

재물로 만족하지 못합니다.

6장은

많이 가져도 누리지 못하는 삶의 헛됨을 보여 줍니다.

7장은

죽음과 슬픔 앞에서

인생을 더 깊이 배우는 지혜를 말합니다.

8장은

사람이 하나님의 일을 처음부터 끝까지

다 알 수 없다고 말합니다.

Ecclesiastes 5–8 asks

how human beings should live before God.

Chapter 5 tells us

to guard our words

when we come to the house of God.

Before God,

a listening heart is more important

than many words.

Wealth also cannot satisfy the human heart.

The one who loves money

will not be satisfied with money.

Chapter 6 shows

the vanity of possessing much

yet not being able to enjoy it.

Chapter 7 speaks of wisdom

that learns more deeply

before death and sorrow.

Chapter 8 says

that human beings cannot fully understand

the work of God

from beginning to end.

IV. 🧠 해석 | Interpretation

전도서 5:7은

하나님 앞에서의 경외를 중심에 둡니다.

꿈이 많고,

말이 많고,

계획이 많고,

욕망이 많아도

하나님을 경외하지 않으면

그 모든 것은 헛됨으로 흐릅니다.

전도서는 말을 줄이라는 단순한 예절을 말하는 것이 아닙니다.

하나님 앞에서

자기 자신을 크게 보지 말라는 것입니다.

많은 말은

때로 하나님보다 자신을 더 크게 여기는 마음에서 나옵니다.

재물을 향한 욕망도 마찬가지입니다.

재물은 필요하지만

재물이 마음의 주인이 되면

사람은 결코 만족하지 못합니다.

참된 지혜는

하나님 앞에서 말을 낮추고,

욕망을 낮추고,

자기 판단을 낮추는 것입니다.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 places

the fear of God at the center.

Even if dreams increase,

words multiply,

plans grow,

and desires expand,

without the fear of God

all of them move toward vanity.

Ecclesiastes is not merely teaching manners

about speaking less.

It teaches us

not to make ourselves great before God.

Many words may come

from a heart that makes the self larger than God.

The desire for wealth is similar.

Wealth may be necessary,

but when wealth becomes lord of the heart,

a person cannot be satisfied.

True wisdom lowers words,

desires,

and self-judgment

before God.

V. 🔥 적용 | Application

오늘 나는 하나님 앞에서

너무 많은 말을 하고 있지는 않습니까?

듣기보다 설명하려 하고,

순종하기보다 주장하려 하며,

맡기기보다 계산하려 하지는 않습니까?

내 마음은 무엇으로 만족하려 합니까?

재물입니까?

성과입니까?

사람의 인정입니까?

내 계획의 성공입니까?

전도서는 말합니다.

하나님을 경외하십시오.

말을 하나님 앞에 낮추십시오.

욕망을 하나님 앞에 낮추십시오.

모든 것을 다 알 수 없음을 인정하고,

하나님의 지혜 앞에 서십시오.

Am I speaking too many words

before God today?

Am I trying to explain rather than listen,

argue rather than obey,

calculate rather than entrust?

With what is my heart trying to be satisfied?

Wealth?

Achievement?

Human approval?

The success of my plans?

Ecclesiastes says:

Fear God.

Lower your words before God.

Lower your desires before God.

Acknowledge that you cannot know everything,

and stand before the wisdom of God.

VI. 🙏 기도 | Prayer

주님,

제 말이 하나님 앞에서 가벼워지지 않게 하소서.

많은 말보다

듣는 마음을 주시고,

많은 욕망보다

하나님을 경외하는 마음을 주소서.

재물과 성취와 인정으로

제 마음을 채우려 하지 않게 하시고,

주님 앞에서 겸손히 살게 하소서.

Lord,

do not let my words become light before You.

Give me a listening heart

rather than many words,

and a heart that fears You

rather than many desires.

Do not let me try to fill my heart

with wealth,

achievement,

or approval.

Let me live humbly before You.

Hold fast to the fear of God

more than many words.

Seek humility before God

more than many possessions.

Even when you cannot understand everything,

the one who fears God

walks the way of wisdom

within vanity.
