전도서 5–8장은

Ecclesiastes 5–8 deals with

reverence before God,

restraint in words and vows,

the limits of wealth,

wisdom learned before death,

authority and the prosperity of the wicked,

and the human limitation

of not fully understanding the work of God.

Chapter 5:

Words before God,

vows,

the vanity of wealth,

and enjoyment given by God

Chapter 6:

The vanity of possessing

but not being able to enjoy

Chapter 7:

A good name,

wisdom before death and sorrow,

patience and humility

Chapter 8:

Wisdom before authority,

the prosperity of the wicked,

the limits of human knowledge,

and the inability to fully grasp God’s work

II. 핵심 해석 | Core Exposition

전도서 5장은

하나님의 집에 들어갈 때

말을 조심하라고 말합니다.

하나님 앞에서

사람은 많은 말로 자신을 드러내기보다

듣는 마음으로 서야 합니다.

서원도 가볍게 해서는 안 됩니다.

하나님께 한 말은

종교적 감정의 표현이 아니라

하나님 앞에서의 책임입니다.

이어 전도서는

재물의 한계를 말합니다.

은을 사랑하는 사람은

은으로 만족하지 못하고,

풍요를 사랑하는 사람은

소득으로 만족하지 못합니다.

재물은 쌓을 수 있지만

마음을 쉬게 할 수는 없습니다.

6장은

소유와 누림이 같지 않음을 보여 줍니다.

사람이 많이 가져도

Ecclesiastes 5 tells us

to guard our words

when entering the house of God.

Before God,

a person should stand with a listening heart

rather than display the self

through many words.

Vows must also not be made lightly.

Words spoken to God

are not mere expressions of religious emotion,

but responsibility before God.

Then Ecclesiastes speaks

of the limits of wealth.

The one who loves silver

will not be satisfied with silver,

and the one who loves abundance

will not be satisfied with income.

Wealth can be accumulated,

but it cannot give rest to the heart.

Chapter 6 shows

that possession and enjoyment

are not the same.

A person may have much,

but if God does not grant the ability to enjoy it,

life may remain vanity.

Chapter 7 says

that death and sorrow

can become a classroom of wisdom.

In the house of mourning

more than in the house of feasting,

a person considers the end of life.

Chapter 8 deals with the reality

that the wicked may prosper

and God’s judgment may seem delayed.

But human beings cannot understand

the whole work of God.

Therefore the conclusion of Ecclesiastes

humbles human pride

and turns us back

to the fear of God.

III. 신학적 의미 | Theological Meaning

전도서 5–8장은

하나님 경외가 헛됨 속에서 지혜의 중심임을 보여 줍니다.

말이 많아질 때

사람은 자신이 모든 것을 설명할 수 있다고 착각합니다.

재물이 많아질 때

사람은 자신이 안전을 소유했다고 착각합니다.

권세와 악인의 형통을 볼 때

사람은 세상을 다 판단할 수 있다고 착각합니다.

그러나 전도서는

이 모든 착각을 무너뜨립니다.

인간은 하나님 앞에서 피조물입니다.

인간은 말의 주인이 아닙니다.

재물의 주인도 아닙니다.

시간과 심판과 생명의 주인도 아닙니다.

그러므로 지혜는

더 많이 말하는 데 있지 않고,

하나님 앞에서 낮아지는 데 있습니다.

더 많이 소유하는 데 있지 않고,

하나님이 주시는 것을 바르게 받는 데 있습니다.

모든 일을 다 설명하는 데 있지 않고,

하나님의 일을 신뢰하는 데 있습니다.

Ecclesiastes 5–8 shows

that the fear of God

is the center of wisdom within vanity.

When words increase,

a person may imagine

that he can explain everything.

When wealth increases,

a person may imagine

that he possesses security.

When seeing power

and the prosperity of the wicked,

a person may imagine

that he can judge the whole world.

But Ecclesiastes breaks down

all these illusions.

Human beings are creatures before God.

They are not the masters of words.

They are not the masters of wealth.

They are not the masters

of time,

judgment,

or life.

Therefore wisdom is not found

in speaking more,

but in being humbled before God.

It is not found

in possessing more,

but in receiving rightly

what God gives.

It is not found

in explaining everything,

but in trusting the work of God.

IV. 적용 | Application

오늘 우리의 말은

하나님 앞에서 어떤 무게를 가지고 있습니까?

기도의 말,

약속의 말,

예배의 말,

사람에게 하는 말이

가볍게 흩어지고 있지는 않습니까?

또한 우리는 무엇으로 만족하려 합니까?

재물입니까?

성과입니까?

권세입니까?

사람의 인정입니까?

전도서는 우리에게 말합니다.

말을 낮추십시오.

욕망을 낮추십시오.

판단을 낮추십시오.

하나님을 경외하십시오.

하나님이 허락하신 것을 감사로 받고,

하나님이 감추신 것은 믿음으로 맡기십시오.

What weight do our words carry

before God today?

Are the words of prayer,

promise,

worship,

and speech to others

being scattered lightly?

And with what are we trying to be satisfied?

Wealth?

Achievement?

Power?

Human approval?

Ecclesiastes says to us:

Lower your words.

Lower your desires.

Lower your judgment.

Fear God.

Receive with gratitude

what God has given,

and entrust by faith

what God has hidden.

V. 마지막 권면 | Final Counsel

하나님 앞에서 말을 가볍게 하지 마십시오.

재물을 마음의 주인으로 삼지 마십시오.

모든 일을 다 안다고 생각하지 마십시오.

하나님을 경외하십시오.

그 경외가

헛됨 속에서도

당신의 마음을 지혜의 길로 이끌 것입니다.

Do not treat words lightly before God.

Do not make wealth

the lord of your heart.

Do not think

that you know all things.

Fear God.

That reverence

will lead your heart

in the way of wisdom

even within vanity.
